Elon Musk Announces Moves To Help Trump Win Pennsylvania Donated $75 Million
Elon Musk has emerged as a significant financial supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, contributing $75 million to his pro-Trump super PAC in just the past three months.
This infusion of cash positions Musk, the world’s richest man, as a pivotal player in the upcoming election, as he aims to generate a “red wave” in key swing states that could help propel Trump back to the White House.
Musk founded America PAC to focus on mobilizing vot
Recent disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission reveal that the PAC spent approximately $75 million during the July-September period, making it the leading pro-Trump super PAC dedicated to voter turnout.
Notably, Musk was the sole donor to America PAC, granting him considerable influence in the election landscape.
ers in closely contested states.
The Trump campaign relies heavily on external organizations for voter canvassing, which amplifies Musk’s role as the election approaches.
This upcoming race between Trump and the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, is anticipated to be one of the closest elections in decades.
Having initially voted for President Biden in 2020, Musk’s political alignment has shifted dramatically.
He formally endorsed Trump in July and appeared alongside him at a rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
On Wednesday, Musk announced plans to return to Pennsylvania for a “series of talks” aimed at bolstering support.
Those interested in attending the talks, scheduled from tomorrow through Monday, must sign a petition on America PAC’s website.
This petition pledges support for “free speech and the right to bear arms,” as well as confirming participation in the upcoming election.
America PAC aims to gather over one million signatures for this initiative, incentivizing participation by offering $47 for each registered voter referred to the petition.
In addition to these efforts, America PAC is also operating in other battleground states, such as Wisconsin, and has been described by the Washington Post as pursuing one of the most ambitious independent get-out-the-vote operations for Republican candidates.
The PAC’s strategy focuses on mobilizing individuals who support Trump but do not consistently vote, marking a high-risk approach for the Trump campaign.
Despite its crucial role, America PAC has encountered several challenges. It entered the election race later than other political action committees (PACs) and has faced difficulties in retaining staff and contractors.
Since July, the PAC has terminated two major contractors responsible for canvassing efforts and has struggled to recruit door knockers in several battleground states.
Many canvassing groups had already established their teams by the time America PAC became operational.
Additionally, extreme summer and fall temperatures in states like Nevada and Arizona have hindered the PAC’s ability to maintain a workforce for door-to-door outreach in the final weeks leading up to the election.
By the end of September, America PAC reported having around $4 million remaining in its budget.
Musk’s substantial donations to America PAC elevate him to the ranks of prominent Republican mega-donors, alongside figures such as banking heir Timothy Mellon and casino billionaire Miriam Adelson.
Recent filings indicated that Adelson contributed $95 million to another pro-Trump super PAC, Preserve America PAC, during the same timeframe.
While Musk’s apparent shift to the right in American politics has drawn attention, reports earlier this month revealed that he has been secretly financing a conservative political group for years, prior to his public endorsement of Trump.
This includes contributions to a group called Building America’s Future, which has been critical of the Biden-Harris administration and received millions from Musk in 2022.
