Meet Garry Turner, the Guinness World Record holder for having the stretchiest skin
Garry isn't the only person with strange skin conditions.
Garry Turner's unusual talent may make some people's skin crawl. But it’s his skin that has made him a Guinness World Record holder
Turner suffers from a disorder of connective tissues that affect his skin, ligaments, and internal organs.
But the 50-year-old has never been bowed down by his condition. Instead, he has turned it into a talent that has left millions of people worldwide in awe.
Believe it or not, he can stretch his skin to an unbelievable length due to his rare medical condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. He can stretch the skin on his neck so much that it can almost cover half his face.
The condition occurs when the collagen that usually strengthens skin and determines its elasticity becomes defective. As a result, it can loosen the skin. Fortunately for Garry, his condition is not so severe. In many cases, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome has caused the rupture of blood vessels, according to a LadBible report.
Garry's talents came to the fore several years ago, when he showcased his talents to Guinness World Records in front of a studio audience.
"I have always known that my skin was different - as a small child my uncles used to have fun showing their friends," Garry had said back in 2012.
He is able to stretch the skin on his stomach to a length of 6.25 cm.
Garry isn't the only person with strange skin conditions.
An 18-year-old girl went viral with a rare condition that causes her skin to swell up red when touched. Emma Aldenryd, from Aarhus, Denmark, celebrates her allergy to touch by drawing illustrations on her arms.
Another woman went viral this year after revealing what it is like to live with an extremely rare condition that leaves her fingers completely white.
No, the woman doesn't suffer from vitiligo. Her 23-year-old daughter, Julie, recently shared a photo on Twitter that showed her hands.
The mother, identified as Monica, suffers from Raynaud's Syndrome, a rare condition of the blood vessels in which spasm of small arteries cause episodes of reduced blood flow to end arterioles.
